The Watt Companies is a 70-year-old real estate development company based in Los Angeles, with a diversified portfolio of shopping centers, office buildings, apartments, mobile home communities and industrial parks.

Founded in 1947, Watt’s portfolio spans seven states and includes more than eight million square feet of office and industrial space, 16,000 multifamily units, 100,000 family homes, six master-planned communities, three first-class hotels and 50 shopping centers.

In 2018, the Watt family partnered with United Way of Greater Los Angeles and the Home for Good Funders Collaborative, the Watt Family Foundation to launch the LA Homelessness Challenge that awarded two grants of $200,000 each for two scalable service model proposals that serves the city and county’s homeless population.
