The Jewish Federation is a secular Jewish philanthropic nonprofit organization with almost 150 Federations across most metropolitan areas in North America. Their broad purpose is to provide “human services”, generally, but not exclusively, to the local Jewish community.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, founded in 1911, convenes and leads the fifth largest Jewish community in the world (about 500,000 people) and leverages its resources to assure the continuity of the Jewish people, support a secure State of Israel, care for Jews in need in LA and abroad, and mobilize on issues of concern to the local community, all with their local, national, and international partners. Regardless of religious practice, heritage, skin color, sexual orientation, gender, ability or life stage, The Jewish Federation welcome one and all to share in a vibrant and inclusive expression of Jewish communal life.

The Federation recently launched LA CONNECT, a monthly leadership luncheon that convenes emerging leaders from different faith and cultural backgrounds for a series of leadership luncheons and programs to build connections and understanding about various communities throughout Los Angeles.
