Plant Prefab

Plant Prefab

Plant Prefab is the first prefabricated design and construction company in the United States dedicated to sustainable construction, materials, processes, and operations.

Plant Prefab was founded by Steve Glenn in 2016, a prefab housing pioneer who also founded Santa Monica-based residential design studio, LivingHomes, in 2006. The first LivingHome, designed by Ray Kappe, FAIA, was the first home in the world to achieve LEED Platinum certification.

Plant Prefab’s first factory is a 62,000-square-foot facility in Rialto, CA (map link below). They plan to scale operations after raising Series A funding in 2018 from Amazon, Obvious Ventures, among others. They continue to work with dozens of individuals, developers, and affordable housing groups on projects by architects and designers such as Ray Kappe, Toby Long, Yves Béhar, Kieran Timberlake, Brooks + Scarpa, M-Rad, Alchemy Architects, and many others.
