Housing Innovation Funds
Cities across America have begun allocating a portion of affordable housing funding towards innovative projects that may not fit under the umbrella of the other funds, such as maker-hoods, tiny homes, and other housing innovations.
Highlighted Examples
In New Jersey, 10% of the State’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund is allocated to innovative projects – up to $2 million per project (learn more).
In Los Angeles, $120 million, or 10% of the $1.2 billion Prop HHH bond raised from city residents for developing permanent supportive housing was set aside to fund innovative new housing models. See winning proposals here.
